A playbook is a guide a sports team uses to win a game. It shows everyone what to do and helps the team work together for their goal. God has given us a playbook too. It's the Bible! The Bible shows us what is right and true, how to live as followers of Jesus and how to reflect God's character because he loves us so much. "Winning" for God looks like loving God, trusting him, living a life that shows his love and helping others know him.

Proverbs 2:1-5 tells us more about living out God's playbook, the Bible.

My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

Wisdom doesn't just stay in your head, it goes into your heart and helps you choose what's right. Godly wisdom is know what God says is true and right and trusting him to help us do it. To know what God says, we need to study his playbook, the Bible!

We learn in the Bible that Solomon could have asked for anything, but he asked God for wisdom. We can ask for wisdom too. God also gave us Jesus, as we can ask him to help us live wisely. We can seek God, ask him for help, call out to him and we can trust him.
