Helping children discover that they can succeed in maths
I have worked in education for more than 15 years, specialising in supporting children who experience difficulties with mathematics.
I hold a QTS as well as a Level 5 Accredited Teacher of Dyscalculia and Maths learning difficulties (ATD) from the British Dyslexia Association.
Throughout my teaching career I've worked as:
🔺 Maths Lead
🔺 Primary and KS3 teacher
🔺 Dyscalculia specialist
🔺 Trainer and workshop facilitator
I've also collaborated with organisations including:
🔺 Times Tables Rock Stars
🔺 Herts for Learning
🔺 Maths Hubs
More recently I've supported the UK implementation and development of innovative tools including Numbers Explorer and DysCalculator, helping make mathematics more accessible for learners.
My passion is helping children discover that they can succeed in maths when they receive the right support.
With me, you get the best of both worlds: I am a classroom practitioner, delivering maths to a wide range of abilities and needs. I am an experienced private tutor having supported children in Y4-11 with a proven track record. I am also supporting schools to improve maths outcomes; with that comes data analysis, being up to date with curriculum and modelling use of great resources and technology to make maths accessible for everyone.
With a Swedish upbringing, university in Lapland and Paris (and sunny Bedfordshire), running restaurants in England and Scotland before settling for teaching in Bedfordshire, my experience and skills go beyond the classroom and makes my sessions different. Being a parent and (young) grandparent, I can relate to the school system with different perspectives.
A bonus is also my involvement with international research and technology to support learners who struggle with maths: maths should be accessible, purposeful and fun.
