Stories of growing confidence, understanding and success in maths
Every learner's journey is unique. Here are some of the experiences shared by the families, learners and schools I've had the privilege of supporting.
If you’re a parent, school, or local community looking for exceptional maths support, especially for children who struggle with confidence, traditional teaching methods, or dyscalculia, I cannot recommend Christin highly enough.
As a qualified Primary teacher and KS2/KS3 maths tutor, she supports children through some of the most important developmental years in maths, building the critical foundations, confidence, and techniques they need not just to improve academically, but to genuinely believe in themselves.
What makes Christin particularly exceptional is her ability to screen, assess and support those with maths-specific learning difficulties. For families facing challenges with numbers, processing, or maths anxiety, this level of specialist knowledge is invaluable.
Christin offers far more than tutoring. She brings formal teaching expertise, specialist knowledge, and an extraordinary ability to emotionally connect with children in a way that makes learning engaging, accessible, and enjoyable.
For my son, this has been priceless. She has made maths fun, interesting, and tailored to how he learns best. Her lessons are engaging, confidence-building, and never boring. She understands that every child learns differently, and she adapts with patience, expertise, and genuine care.
The difference she has made academically is significant, but the difference she has made to his confidence and mindset has been even greater.
For any parent seeking a highly qualified, deeply skilled, and genuinely compassionate maths specialist, particularly for Neurodiverse, Christin is outstanding.
Katy, Year 9 parent
Christin of 4orte Maths is an excellent tutor who is passionate about giving the best support to her students.
Initially Christin worked with my daughter to provide extra maths tuition support.
Following an initial assessment of my daughter's abilities, we were offered a Dyscalculia assessment and clear targets were set. In six months, T’s Dyscalculia Assessment scores improved greatly: from 29% to 80%, all thanks to focused targets and over learning in a way that suited her - not sitting down, using concrete resources and technology to help her see the maths.
I have found the support and encouragement shown to be excellent. I would highly recommend 4orte Maths services to anyone looking for a professional and caring dyscalculia evaluation and for regular maths tuition.
Louise, Year 7 parent
Christin immediately understood our daughter. Within weeks, she was approaching maths with confidence instead of tears.

Having Christin as a link between the SEN and maths team is invaluable. She creates opportunities for learning based on the children’s needs, invents multisensory tasks and keeps the learning on point! It’s active, different, engaging, unpredictable and fun. Those children not only make great progress academically as well as socially - they exceed expectations whilst having fun!
Mrs Davies, SENDco
Mrs Forte is a brilliant maths teacher, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. She is incredibly patient, uses lots of visual aids to make concepts easy to understand, and connected with our daughter immediately.
When our daughter first started lessons with Mrs Forte, she was not meeting age-related expectations in maths. A year later, the progress has been remarkable. She is now excelling, has been moved up into a higher maths set at school, and, most importantly, has so much more confidence in her own abilities.
Mrs Forte has a wonderful way of making maths fun and engaging. Our daughter genuinely looks forward to every session, which is something we never thought we’d say about maths! We are so grateful for the positive impact Mrs Forte has had, not only on her academic progress but also on her confidence and enjoyment of learning.
When we first approached Christin, both of our children were well below the expected standard in their SATs mock exams. Naturally, we were worried, but from the very first session it was clear that Christin’s focus wasn’t just on helping them pass a test – she wanted them to truly understand what they were learning.
Rather than simply teaching them how to answer SATs questions, Christin identified the gaps in their knowledge and patiently rebuilt the foundations they had been missing. Week by week we saw their confidence grow, not only in Maths but in English as well. They stopped doubting themselves, started tackling problems independently and, for the first time in a long while, actually believed they could succeed.
The end result was that both of our children passed their SATs, something that had seemed a long way off after their first mock exams. However, the greatest success is that they now have the skills, confidence and resilience to carry that progress into secondary school.
Christin is calm, incredibly patient and explains things in a way that children genuinely understand. She has been a pleasure to welcome into our home and has built a wonderful relationship with both of our children.
We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done and would recommend her without hesitation to any family looking for a tutor who genuinely changes children’s confidence as well as their results.
Mr & Mrs Lee
Christin helped my daughter when she felt overwhelmed and scared right through her GCSE years. Confidence grew as she learned from Christin how to make maths manageable using dyscalculia friendly strategies and tools. Thanks to her assessments, extra time was given for both maths and science which helped her pause and reset.
