About the Event

The Picture Perfect Youth Leaders of Shawnee County have designed this year's workshop around a theme of Starry Night - Glimpse Beyond the Camera Lens. This year's workshop offers NEW exciting youth and professionally-led sessions. We kick-off with a keynote photographer, Aurora Dora Redman, who captures the Great Northern Lights, followed by courses that take us into sundown to practice and capture night techniques. Lots of Hands-On Experience. All sessions will be at Rock Springs Ranch south of Junction City. Your registration includes admission to the sessions, pizza and a post event photo contest.

Event is SUNDAY, April 16th from 3 pm - 7:15 pm
Registration and sessions directions will be in the Heritage Hall building at Rock Springs Ranch.
Registration to begin at 2:30 pm.
Sessions will begin at 3 pm.
We will break for a Pizza! dinner thanks to a donation by a 4-H Foundation Sponsor for all registered participants.
If anyone wants to register to eat but not attend the sessions, there is an option for that in the registration below as well.
After dinner there will be two sessions that will include silhouettes and "night" shots.
All activities should be completed by about 7:15 pm based on lighting conditions.

Registration Fees:

$15 for first participating youth or adult

$12 for 2nd through 5th participant in your group

$10 for Pizza-only registrants

Payment must be received within 5 business days of registering to secure your reservation.

There will be NO REFUNDS for cancellations.

WHAT TO BRING: Camera or phone camera, extra batteries and chargers. We could experience spring weather so we recommend bringing an umbrella, a towel or blanket to sit on, tripod (optional), reusable drinking container, and clipboard/notebook if you want to take notes.

NOTE: There is a Participation Form (required by Rock Springs Ranch). We will email it to you once we receive your payment. You will hand in your signed form when you register.

Notices:

This will mostly be an indoor event, but some sessions are planned for outside with inside options in case of bad weather.
