At the 3DVT contest, I enjoyed seeing projects from some of the other schools. I took some pictures of ones I thought were really cool and looked like the teams had worked really hard on them:
I like the columns and detail of the brickwork and shingles on this building.
I like the two spires on this church.
I like the curved entryway and tower on this building.
We did historic research on and printed seven town buildings: Eureka Schoolhouse, Sparrow Block, Park Street School, Town Hall, Springfield Dam Tower, Springfield Ice Company, Fellows Gear Shaper.
The most interesting things I learned about the history of our town were:
Here is the slide show / research part of our teams final project for 3D Vermont:
Having the class calendar that helped us figure out what to do and when to do it was really helpful, because with 3D Vermont there is a lot to do and keep track of. Sometimes we got off schedule because of technical problems, but we usually got back on track with some help.
I feel like I did meet most of my goals, even though we didn't win the competition.
The process was messy sometimes!
I would like to investigate some of the programs in Vermont that would give me more experience with 3D printing or engineering or animation. My school does a class trip to Burlington Technical Center. There are programs there that I might be interested in:
At Northwest Technical Center, there is an Engineering Technologies program
At the Center for Technology, Essex, there is an Engineering and Architectural Design program
