On my fathers side I came from a big family. My father was married six times and from that I gained 22 brothers and sisters. On my mothers side she also comes from a big family and from her marriage with my father I gained my two full blooded siblings.
My parents both come from Mexican backgrounds and meet in the heart of Mexico known as Casas Grande, Chiguagua, Mexico. Growing up with two tradional mexican parents who took me to church every Sunday, spent time with the family every Friday and Saturday, and enjoyed our days at home throughout the week. My ethnicity as a Hispanic women who was raised with Catholic values and a set of traditions.
A big part of my roots is taking the passage of having a quinceanera . In my culture when you turn 15 you have a celebration to represent a young girl becoming a women, During the celebration the Quinceanera a young girl will give herself to her church and promise to stay pure till marriage. Another piece of the celebration is to have your first dance with your father. This is a huge part of my heritage.
