Community Observation

Every community has its own cutltural landscapes, ideas, languages, religion. and history. The culture of a community is not just affected by the landscapes, roads, houses, and fields but their ability to come together as a community when big things go on. Here in Bloomfield, NM the families, schools, clubs, civic organization, businness, etc. take pride in being Bobcats. Recently the Bloomfield HS football players made it to the state championships and the community came together to support them.

Here in Bloomfield their is only one high school and everyone who grew up here or lives here has at one point attentendence this high school. In this small town they take pride in the sports they play so when a team makes it way to a championship game the whole town comes together to support the team.

BHS originally opened in 1956 as a junior-senior high school with 7th to 10th grade students. The 10th grade students would eventually become the 1st senior class of 1960. Previously, the high school students went to nearby Aztec High School. Aztec High School is now one of our school rivals.

In observing this I learned how small communities come together to support each other and how people of different races, religions, and beliefs.
