2 Corinthians 13:5-10
Jesus is Indwelt in Us
5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? 6 And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test. 7 Now we pray to God that you will not do anything wrong. Not that people will see that we have stood the test but that you will do what is right even though we may seem to have failed. 8 For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. 9 We are glad whenever we are weak but you are strong; and our prayer is for your perfection. 10 This is why I write these things when I am absent, that when I come I may not have to be harsh in my use of authority—the authority the Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down.
St. Paul tells us in his second letter to the Corinthians that Jesus Christ is in you, and he means that Jesus is dwelling in us...And St. Paul says these things about Jesus' Spirit living in us...If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is life because of righteousness is in you...I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me...Let Christ make His home in our hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love...To whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the Glory of This Mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory...
So Jesus lives in us when we have faith in Him...Our lives are abundant and life is not a matter of trying to better behave like Jesus, and allowing Him to live in and through us...
By Jesus living in us, He shows us who we are by His teachings and His actions...Because His Father sent Him to dwell among us, and He was Completely Human, a Complete and Perfect Man...He is all knowledgeable so He knows who we are...He is like A Reflection of us and we better see ourselves for who we really are...So from Jesus, we gain much self-knowledge about ourselves when we follow the Way, the Truth, and the Life...
