Description: In this class we will be studying the classification of animals. How do we classify them, and what do we base the classification on? We will study the 4 main invertebrate classes and the 5 vertebrate classes. We will learn through lap books and crafts as we study each individual class.

Description: In this class we will explore the BASICS of cooking and baking. We will learn that baking is a science. We will talk about measuring, the difference in dry vs. wet ingredients, practice cutting butter, using a timer, preparing baking dishes and pans, cracking eggs, beating butter and sugar, cutting butter into flour, juicing fruits, zesting fruits, working with puff pastry, melting chocolate....and many more basics of cooking. Hopefully each week they will have put into practice a new skill and made something they can be proud of.

Description: Our art history class will cover various famous artists, throughout different time periods. We will learn some facts about the artists, look at/talk about a few of their art pieces, as well as having the students create their own piece of art similar to the style of the artist that we are studying that week. Books being used: "Getting to Know the World's Greatest Artists" series by Mike Venezia. "Discovering Great Artists" by MaryAnn F. Kohl and Kim Solga. Possibly using: "History of Art" by Veritas Press or "Art Cards" by Memoria Press.

Description: We will use an elementary curriculum called Literary Littles. Students will read together in class and discuss five core elements of literature: main characters, conflict types, story structure, setting, and themes. We will learn to make claims and defend them with a basic academic paragraph, and we will enjoy creative writing activities as well.

Description: We will be diving deep into the Armor of God, its historical meaning, and its application/importance today. We will be looking at various versus and stories from the Bible to see examples of how the armor was used (ex: Jesus being tempted in the desert & using the Truth of scripture to resist temptation). There will be a craft component where students will create each piece of the armor, and end the course with a completed wearable “armor”. The goal is for students to understand the meaning of the armor (both historically and spiritually), how it applies in our lives, and what it means to use the armor daily.
