Make a micro:bit tree ornament

MICRO:BIT TREE ORNAMENT
Today you are going to create an interactive ornament with the micro:bit and makecode. You will need simple material you will have in your house and you will create a fun ornament with music for in your tree. And if you have another micro:bit you can use that as a remote control. Have fun and get creative.
Materials

- 1 micro:bit (and 1 more if you want to make a remote control)
- 1 Micro USB Cord
- 1 Battery Pack for micro:bit (and 1 more if you make a remote control)
- 2 Alligator Clips
- 1 Mini Speaker (piëzo)
- Tape, Scissors, Ribbon
- 2 top of plastic cups (Frappuccino or tomato cups)

- Make your code on the MakeCode.com.
- You have to add the music items in your code.
- You can use this Youtube link with Christmas songs, if you don't know the notes.
- You can also use this link, then you will have a working code for you micro:bit.

- Download the code on your micro:bit. You can use the one-click download.
- That is very easy and quick.
- If that is not working, use the "normal" download and drag your file out of the download folder to your micro:bit.

- Now you have to attach your small speaker (piëzo) to your micro:bit.
- Attach the alligator clips to the P0 and the GND of your micro:bit.
- The other sides of the clips to your piëzo.
- Test if the sound is working with your song.

- Put the micro:bit and the piëzo, cable's and battery pack in one plastic lid
- Put the other plastic over the other side, it looks like a ball.
- Now you have your Christmas ornament almost ready.
- Tape your ornament together with tape.

- Attach a ribbon to it as well, so you can hang it in your tree.

- If you want to use another micro:bit as a remote control for your ornament you have to change the code on your micro:bit a little bit.
- Both of your micro:bits must be on the same radio channel if you start your micro:bit.
- And if you press button A, a signal has to be send to the micro:bit in the ornament.
- And the ornament has to do something if the signal is coming in.
- You can use this code, or look at it to see how to make your own code.

- Download your new code on your micro:bit and close your ornament with tape.
- Have fun!
