Topic 5.

Joint endeavors: The Secret of Effective Collaboration

Group Activity 5.1.

Divide into groups of three/four.

You are going to make a checklist “A Collaborator of the 21st Century”

Brainstorm the key features (abilities, character traits, actions, habits, etc.) of a good collaborator/teammate;

Make a list of criteria that, in your opinion, are necessary to determine the effectiveness of collaboration.

     Make your checklist summarizing the chosen criteria and discussed features

      (go to Webliography and choose a platform - Miro, Coggle, etc.);

Present your checklists to the class (3-5 min).

Your presentation must include:

- the visual presentation of your checklist (at least 7 criteria)

- the explanation why you’ve selected each criterion (why it is important for quality collaboration) as well as its description (the essence and some details);

- your reflection/self-assessment (assess yourself (individually) as a teammate, how good you are at producing effective collaboration with others).

Upload your checklist to your e-portfolio

Group Home Assignment. Digital Storytelling

Imagine that you have been asked to represent your faculty at an online ‘Open Day’ on behalf of all its students.

Your task is to create an engaging voice-over presentation of the faculty in an effort to attract as many applicants as possible.

Divide into groups of 3.

In groups:

• Brainstorm your ideas—what exactly you want to talk about in the presentation.

• Conduct mini research to highlight the main advantages of the faculty and its unique aspects.

You may use the website http://www.ffl.msu.ru/.

• Think about the presentation format: a personal experience narrative, an interview, a commercial, a reportage, etc.

Remember, your task is to convince the audience by providing reasons and evidence-based arguments why choosing this particular faculty is a great decision.

Be creative to get the audience interested in the faculty.

•  Make your plan: set the aim and objectives, write a script, and distribute the tasks and roles within your groups.

Upload your plans and scripts to Google Classroom to get feedback from the instructor.

Make necessary adjustments based on the provided feedback.

* How to write a script?

Write a script that includes narration, quotations and any other spoken or written content that will be included in your digital story.

Keep it concise, focusing on one main idea or message.

Use clear language that is easy for your audience to understand.

Include interesting facts that will capture your audience's attention.

Edit and revise your script to ensure that it flows well and conveys your key message effectively.

Using the plan and script you’ve already prepared, continue working on your presentation:

•  Select appropriate visual aids (pictures/videos/ graphics) that will accompany your oral presentation.

•  Choose the platform: Genially, Powtoon. Work on the visual part.

•  Record your visual presentation with the application https://screencast-o-matic.com.

Before recording, check pronunciation with the application https://www.naturalreaders.com/online/

•  Upload your recording to Google Classroom and send the link to Google Chat.

•  Watch your groupmates’ presentations and evaluate them using the assessment criteria for this task.
