What you learn from the course.
Introduction
Introduction The Philosophy of Education is a basis for study and thinking about education which has, at least, two aspects. The first aspect describes the way that philosophers and educational theorists answer to the questions about education and it makes the history of philosophy. In the second aspect each keen person plays the role of a philosopher who asks fundamental questions about education. In that case, s/he is doing a philosophical practice.

Course Goals
Primary Objective
At the end of the course the student will understand and reflect on the nature of education and learning by cultivating a sophisticated knowledge of the most prominent educational theories and can use these descriptions in their teaching and research. The framework for studying will be the four main themes identified in the course description: (1) educational aims, (2) Philosophy in education, Learning theory, teaching and educational method, educational content, and New Trend in Education.
Specific Objectives
1. Students should understand the importance of philosophies of education in their teaching process. They also should be able to explain the relations of these in teaching, learner’s learning and research of education.
2. Learning various ways of approaching philosophy in general.
3. Students should be able to explain the definitions and concepts of education and select their preferable definitions.
4. Explaining the core definitions and concepts of philosophy in general.
5. Students should be able to briefly explain the main traditional philosophical education such as: existentialism, essentialism, perennialism progressivism, reconstructionism, and analytical philosophy.
6. Learning about the philosophy of education in China and Thailand
7. Identifying some of the teachings which can be influenced by philosophies of education.
8. Learning about the world trend in education
9.learning about teaching, learning and evaluation and assessment
11.learning about how technology might further develop new philosophy in education.
12. Using technology to construct their own new knowledge.
Course Description
This course will provide students with an opportunity to consider a variety of educational issues from a philosophical perspective.
1.This course examines:
-the aims or goals of the educational process.
-education and related sciences Philosophy of education.
-Philosophy of Learning/Learning theories/ autonomy in learning
-Educational traditions in China and Thailand.
-teaching methods, the proper content or subject matter of education (the curriculum).
-Education Act
-Curriculum and basic concepts about educational innovation learning management.
-Using of Media and technology in Learning.
-Learning Measurement and Evaluation.
-New learning skills and how to develop.
-New trend of education, various specific topics of current interest in the philosophy of education may be explored, such as: academic freedom; access to education, educational testing and measurement, fairness in education; academic standards, the ethics of special education, religious education, propaganda in education, sex education, technology in learning, education, and career training (the class might choose in prefer on to discuss and reflect)
2. To reflect on the ideas about philosophy in education and learning. Questions considered in this course may include:
*What is the nature of philosophy of education inquiries?
*What educational aims are most justifiable and why?
* Can these aims be reached and what is the most appropriate way?
*What does it mean to be an ethical and 'professional' teacher?
*How might education and teaching be implicated in the 'good' life, if at all?
*How might examinations and discipline in education interrupt pursuit of
the 'good' life?
*What is 'knowledge' and how is it taught/and or acquired?
*What types of knowledge are of educational value in different contexts
of learning such as classrooms, sports halls, colleges, museums, the outdoors, and workplaces?
*What is the ultimate goal of education?
*Should education aim at making good citizens?
*What should be taught and what is the most effective way to teach it?
*Should education limit itself to imparting literacy, numeracy, and
various kinds of skills and information, or should teachers also strive to influence the character and values of their students?
*What were the education practices of the early settlers in your country?
*What were the educational influences of the 18th century?
*What were the educational influences of the 19th century?
*What education reforms were implemented in the 20th century?
*What is the current state of educational reform?
*How has education been influenced by major social, economic, and
political events?
*What has been the history of equity and equality in your country?
*What has been the legacy of teachers in your country?
*What influence have professional organizations had on the teaching
profession?
*Why is learning important in the first place?
*What is the object of knowledge?
*What sorts of things ought we to know, and why?
*How does one come to know something?
*How does one communicate knowledge?
*Can moral values be taught? Should they? If so, what values should be,
taught, and how?
*What happens in the teaching/learning process?

*Do educational institutions encourage or hinder the pursuit of

Special Requirements
Digital Portfolio: Students will be required to complete an educational portfolio via an alternative format: Google Document, power point, web page or agreed upon format.
ALL E-PORT FOLIO MUST BE ALWAYS ACTIVATED UNTIL THE GRATUATE DATE.
Activities /Method
Activities In the course will include:
-group discussion in class, group work report, a single report
-Interview and Reflection Assignment.
-use technology to construct and reflect knowledge gaining from class.
Assignment
1.each student create one own e-portfolio.
2.Each student write down their own background in ABOUT ME page
3. Assignment 1: Answer the questions, share in class & share in e-portfolio.
4. Assignment 2: Learn more from the philosophies, answer the questions, in group choose one philosophy, share in class on July 4,2023 ,9.00-10.30 am.& share in e-portfolio
5.Assignment 3: Group discussion about VUCA WORLD, answer the questions and share to your friend and in portfolio
6.Assignment 4: Write down one scenario about your own learning experience reflect philosophy of education and learning theory and share in portfolio.
7.Assignment 5: Learn more from the learning theories. By the group, choose one theory and learn more, share to friend and in portfolio.
8.Assignment 6: in your group please survey technology tools for learning and management in your own country. Report to class on Monday morning at 9-10 am. 10 mins. per group.
9.Each student reflects their own knowledge constructed in E-port Folio,10-15 minutes per person.
10.All students have to do online course evaluation by sharing link.
Course Policies
Attendance Policy: Course attendance is expected as part of the requirements for this course. Students missing more than 25% of class are at risk of failing the class.
Assignment Policy: Student have to submit assignment on time both sharing in class and put on e-portfolio
Participation: Active and respectful participation in class is required. Participation is measured by a student’s active and informed contribution in class discussions and activities, showing interest in the material, and demonstrating through the instructor ‘s lecture given and group presentation.
Knowledge research.
