NYSS became a Haunted House for two days in late October to celebrate the festival of Halloween.
On 22nd October morning, English Ambassadors dressed as Halloween characters and went into S.1-4 classrooms to conduct a Halloween activity with schoolmates. There were vocabulary and riddle games and students won a lot of prizes. S.5 & 6 students were in the hall watching a short video clip (the Addams Family) and then used their mobile phones to race to answer questions about what they had just seen. It was very spooky around school but students commented on their enjoyment.
On 27th October, the annual Halloween Party took place in the covered playground before and after school. English Ambassadors led different activities for their classmates to win sweets and other treats. There was a costume-dress-up-box with both modern and traditional Halloween costumes. There were many anime characters in the playground. There was an apple bobbing game where students used "a claw-hand" to retrieve the apples from the water. A Darts Game where students needed to match the Halloween vocabulary pairs to win a chance to throw a dart at the board. There were also some crosswords and wordsearches too. Upon completing each game, students received a spooky stamp on their "passport" and were then able to trade this for some sweets.
It was a great festival celebration and all schoolmates and teachers had a fantastic time!

We had a variety of Halloween activities, such as Vocabulary Learning Game, Riddle Guessing Game, Apple Bobbing, Costume Photos, Darts Game and Crossword Puzzles. I liked the Crossword Puzzles most because it was very interesting. I could find all the words. The atmosphere was very good. The covered playground was crowded with students. Therefore, I had to queue up for playing the games. I look forward to the Halloween Party next year.
