KEY TERMS

Key Light: The key light is the main source of light exposure in a photograph studio.

Fill Light: The fill light is used to fill in shadows being cast by the key light.

Soft Box: The soft box is a modifier which is used to diffuse light; expanding the area of the light and making the shadows softer.

Reflector: The reflector redirects light from the key light into the subject or frame to fill light or lessen the shadows.

Remote Trigger: The remote trigger is attached on top of the camera to control when the light source releases light onto the subject when you take a picture.

Catchlight: The catchlight appears in the eyes because the light source being used is reflected in the eyes and it gives life in the eyes.
