Visited to Lihini Polypack (Pvt) Ltd, a manufacturing facility operating under the Lihini Group, recognized as a leading producer of LDPE and PP polythene products, high-quality irrigation pipes, and recycled plastic materials.

Audit by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources
An external audit was conducted at Lihini Seafoods (Pvt) Ltd by officials from the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DFAR). The primary focus of the audit was to ensure compliance with national fisheries regulations and hygiene standards in seafood processing.
Key activities included:
Verification of catch documentation, including fishing vessel details, fishing zones, species, and quantities landed.
Inspection of traceability records, ensuring that the sourcing of raw materials aligned with legal and sustainable practices.
On-site factory visit, where auditors inspected the processing area’s hygiene and sanitation conditions, including personal hygiene practices, equipment cleanliness, and general facility maintenance.
I was actively involved in the process by assisting in document retrieval and submission when required, and I also accompanied the audit team during the factory walkthrough. This audit helped reinforce the importance of regulatory compliance, traceability, and sanitation control in the export-oriented seafood industry.

I had the opportunity to visit the Lihini Nature Products (Pvt) Ltd, a processing facility operated under the Lihini Group, which specializes in exporting high-quality coconut-based products and spices to international markets.

HACCP Audit
A HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) audit was conducted at Dives Foods (Pvt) Ltd to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of the food safety management system. The audit focused on both documentation and practical application across critical control areas.
Key aspects reviewed during the documentation assessment included:
Certification applicability and validity
Licenses and legal authorizations
Inspection reports and findings
Corrective and preventive actions taken in response to inspection outcomes
Warnings, suspensions, and regulatory communications
Customer complaints and appeals handling procedures
General facility information and HACCP team records
The auditors also carried out an on-site plant inspection, focusing on hygiene and sanitary conditions in the following areas; raw material receiving area, processing and packaging lines, storage and dispatch facilities
I participated by assisting in the compilation and organization of relevant records and accompanied the auditors during the plant walkthrough, gaining valuable insights into HACCP compliance requirements and auditing practices.
