The Mattatuck staff is composed of some of the best Scouts and Scouters on the entire planet. The connections made through staffing are lifelong and strong, and fellow members of the staff truly become family. When you join the Mattatuck staff, you're giving yourself the opportunity to meet your best friends, impact hundreds of youth, and have the summer of a lifetime. For more information, including applications and interiew scheduling, please visit campmattatuck.org/staff. We hope to welcome you onto our staff!
The Mattatuck CIT (or Counselor in Training) program affords 14 year olds who are too young to serve on paid staff the opportunity to become accustomed to the staffing environment and prepare to work in future summers. For the first week of the CIT program, the CIT chooses 5 departments that they will work with in the mornings during troop and patrol programs. In the afternoon, CITs are able to take merit badges. The first week costs $200. If a CIT has done well, they may be asked back for further weeks. In these weeks, CITs will shadow staff members in one department full time. Generally, CITs will be asked back to their preferred department, though certain factors may require an ask from a second or third choice department. All weeks beyond the first week are free of charge. Note that a Scout may not be a CIT while their troop is at camp. To become a Mattatuck CIT, please visit campmattatuck.org/staff.
