Are you an Incumbent *
I am running for an open seat
Have you been active in the Democratic Party prior to this election?*
Yes
If you answered yes, briefly explain your activism within the Democratic Party.
My activism within the Democratic Party spans decades and reflects a deep, consistent commitment to Democratic values, grassroots organizing, and coalition building.
I have been actively involved with numerous Democratic organizations across Dallas County and North Texas, including the 23rd Senatorial Tejano Democrats, Dallas County Tejano Democrats, Richardson Area Democrats, Garland Democrats, FEDDS, Preston Hollow Democrats, Lake Highlands/White Rock Democrats, Irving Democrats, Beltline Democrats, Dallas East Democrats, the Texas Black Coalition of Democrats – Dallas Chapter, and the Dallas County Young Democrats. Through these organizations, I have worked to register voters, educate communities, support Democratic candidates, and strengthen participation across diverse communities.
My involvement in Democratic politics began early. I worked on President Bill Clinton’s 1992 Presidential Campaign, an experience that cemented my belief in public service, opportunity, and coalition politics. In the summer of 1994, I interned for U.S. Senator David Pryor of Arkansas, gaining firsthand experience in legislative service and constituent advocacy.
More recently, I worked on Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett’s 2022 congressional campaign and volunteered on local races, including Brandon Murden’s and Elizabeth Ross-Rodriguez’s campaigns for Mesquite City Council. These efforts reflect my belief that strong democracy requires engagement at every level, from national campaigns to local municipal races.
My activism is grounded in relationship-building, community presence, and a belief that the Democratic Party is strongest when it reflects and serves all communities.
Without mentioning your opponent(s) what makes you the best candidate for this position? *
I am the best candidate for this position because I bring the rare combination of experience, education, independence, courage, and community-rooted leadership that this court requires, right now.
With more than 26 years of broad civil legal experience, I have handled complex matters involving real estate, contracts, business disputes, finance, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate private equity. I also served as a federal judicial law clerk, working directly with judges on dispositive motions, discovery disputes, and complex case management. That experience means I understand not only how to argue cases, but how to decide them fairly, efficiently, and in accordance with the law.
My educational background further distinguishes me. I earned my Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law, a Master of Laws in Securities and Financial Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center, and an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. This combination of advanced legal and financial training equips me to analyze sophisticated civil disputes, evaluate damages, and manage a modern civil docket with precision and sound judgment. Few candidates bring this depth of preparation to the bench.
But what truly defines me is the choice I made when it mattered most.
During the foreclosure crisis, while working in real estate private equity, I walked away from that space to fight for and protect the community. I saw firsthand how predatory “save your home” companies targeted Black, Latino, and non-English-speaking homeowners, stealing deeds, diverting payments, and stripping families of generational wealth. I worked alongside bankruptcy courts and federal authorities to shut down those operations, recover stolen funds, and protect vulnerable homeowners. I chose justice over comfort. I chose service over profit.
That decision reflects who I am.
Beyond the courtroom, I serve on nonprofit boards, volunteer through the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program, support weekly food and water distribution in underserved communities, and mentor young people. I stay connected to the people most affected by the justice system because leadership requires lived understanding.
In today’s political climate, when courts are under pressure and public trust is fragile, we need judges who are bold, independent thinkers. Judges who will not yield to intimidation, political pressure, or outside influence. Judges who will enforce the law, protect due process, and ensure fairness for everyone.
I offer experience. I offer exceptional education. I offer proven courage. And I offer unwavering independence.
Dallas County deserves the strongest, most qualified candidate, someone prepared to lead from day one and committed to justice on the merits.
