Hello beautiful People,
Today is March 5, it will be simple 2 thing we will do today are go to the deaf school and go to the airport. On the way to our last breakfast in Mumbai. The good food gave us the energy we needed for the day.
Last Deaf school too in Mumbai. The school name is Zewria, that school is small, and only has 70 students, all of them are deaf, but the school is strong in oral skills too. And teachers use signs and oral language at the same time, too. Plus, the school realized that it's important have ISL (Indian Sign Language) more than oral because the deaf can’t hear so they can understand more. The guide that we have in Mumbai went to that school when he was young. The principal was his teacher for the History class in that small community. Cool fact, fun about that school is that the building was owned by a family and a house, the family gave up one floor for a deaf school, and that classroom was a room for their family, now changed to a classroom for students, that's cool of that family. Another fun fact is that one teacher teaches all subjects in one class, and not the same as in High/Middle school, as Texas School for the Deaf has. Students were so excited to come and learn each time, which was so cute of them. And give them a gift that we been found for penical, and a sticker of the Texas school mascot too, they are so happy to get that thing from us. And we learn about their math in different ways to find an answer. Ciara did try that math way, and it's pretty easy to understand, but one student can do 100 math questions in 8 minutes. That WOW! Zewria is cute and a great school to see. We enjoy being there and seeing how they learn, and the classroom looks like too, and the best part of that is meeting students.
Last thing is on the way to the airplane, we were stuck in traffic, it's 1 hour away from the deaf school we go to, at a different airport than the first airport that we arrived at. We were a little late to the airport, and it was a good thing that our guide had a deaf friend who worked at that airport. So make a plan for us to make there, and he helped us a lot too, so grateful and thanks to that deaf worker too, he saved us so much. We flew for 2 hours, and most of us had taken a nap after a long day.
We arrive in Jaipur, known as the “Pink City”. New city for us to look around for 2 days, so excited to have those days for us with different people and a different guide. Guess what, the guide was so excited to see us so much.
When we first met him, he was so sweet to us and had a great story to tell us about his sign name. His sign name is chai “9" on a cheek and move wrist up and down because he loves chai so much, he will have a chai “party” for his deaf friend and even in class too, that was funny. And we went to Bhog to have our first dinner in Jaipur, and many of us got different food. I got crispy corn for dinner. It's about corn and fried, it was pretty good, and it's different. We were full after dinner. We arrived at our hotel in Jaipur. It’s a nice hotel too. We are ready to sleep.
Good night, for American people, good morning.
