A new subject of his interest is the “Neuroscience”, which is relatively new in Taiwan. It is also endorsed by Dr. James Liao, President of Academia Sinica. President Liao assigned Professor Yijuang Chern (陳儀莊 ) to coordinate a team including Dr. Chen, Chih-Cheng ( 陳志成), Dr. Ching-Lung Hsu (徐經倫), Dr. Yu-Wei Wu (吳玉威) and Dr. Yajen Cheng (鄭雅仁) to help organizing the forum.

This full-English event is to invite the prestigious international keynote speakers / guests and regional scientists in neuroscience related fields, under a casual and pressure-free environment, to present and exchange their research. It can also help them building their informal networks for a lifetime of collaboration. It limits up to 100 attendees.
#3. Its frequency is set to be a biannual event initially.
#4. The model of Bowei Research Conference: Chemistry, which has been run for years, can be copied to design the Bowei Research Conference: Neuroscience.
#5. The theme of “Neuroscience AI “ was recommended for the 2026 BRC Neuro-1. An NPAS meeting on June 11 /2024 further suggested the focus to be “Systems Neuroscience: Frontiers in Brain-AI Interfacing”. Dr. Karel Svoboda think that ‘Brain-AI interfacing’ seems to imply brain-machine interfaces, and suggested to change to “Systems Neuroscience : Frontiers at the interface of neuroscience and AI” to avoid confusion.
Supervised by: Dr. Jack Chang (張超群, Executive Director of Bowei Research Conference) and Ms. Olivia Wu (Olivia Wu, Secretary General of LCY Education Foundation)
