Hey everyone!
The morning started off like any other—we all went to school until 11 AM. Then, we met up in the courtyard for one last goodbye with our families. We took millions of pictures and said our goodbyes, and surprisingly, no parents cried (at least, not in front of us!).
Then, we hopped on the bus and headed to the airport. Everything seemed to be going smoothly—until our 2:30 PM flight got delayed to 3:30 PM. We were a little bummed but still super excited for Peru! But then… another delay. Now, it was 4:45 PM. Ugh. At this point, Sean Moore told us the flight might be pushed to the next day. We all crossed our fingers, hoping that wouldn’t happen. But guess what? Another delay—this time to 6:30 PM.
By now, we were so tired from just waiting. When we finally got on the plane, we were relieved but exhausted. We took off around 7 PM, ready for our adventure. But then, we found out we wouldn’t be getting to Peru that night. Instead, we had a layover in Panama City.
We landed in Panama at around 1 AM, completely drained. We checked into our hotel, and even though we were beyond exhausted, we ate a huge dinner—at 2 AM. We didn’t crash until around 3:30 AM.
After a late night, we dragged ourselves out of bed at 9:30 AM and went down for breakfast. And wow—the hotel had so much good food. We definitely ate our fill before heading back to our rooms to chill and play some card games while waiting for our next flight.
Luckily, this flight had no delays. We boarded the plane to Lima and took off, and some of us were knocked out while others played games. Even the airplane food was surprisingly good!
When we landed in Lima, a driver picked us up, and we hopped on a bus to our hotel. Lima was so different from the U.S.—especially the traffic. The cars drove so close to each other that it was kind of scary but cool at the same time.
That night, we went downstairs for dinner, only to realize that the menu was entirely in Spanish. None of us knew how to read it, so we had to figure out how to order. It was a struggle, but we made it work! The food was actually really good. By the end of the night, we were so tired from all the traveling, so we called it a night.
Come back tomorrow to hear what we did next!
