Innovative extension classes and programs for enthusiastic, gifted and dedicated dancers.
Cygnets Level 1 - Students in Junior 1 & 2 (Primary by invitation only) (Saturday 10.30am - 12.00pm)
Cygnets Level 1 is designed to nurture the potential of enthusiastic and dedicated students through extension work. The program aims to provide students with an introduction to the world of dance training beyond regular after school classes.
In 2025 the Cygnets Program will incorporate group performance choreography, with students in the program being prepared for group performances at various local events, performances and/or competitions.
The Cygnets Level 1 Program will allow students to participate in a 1.5hr extension class, once a week, with like-minded students. The vertically streamed class concentrates on developing technique, performance, artistry and musicality. We have carefully designed a program to help students build strength and technique through a specially designed conditioning program along with opportunities to extend the students classical technique. This program is by audition only.

Cygnets Level 2 - Students in Middle 2 & 3 (Saturday 12.30pm - 2.30pm)
Cygnets Level 2 aims to provide passionate and talented students with the opportunity to extend their technique and also to prepare them for further dance study.
In 2025 the Cygnets Program will incorporate group performance choreography, with students in the program being prepared for group performances at various local events, performances and/or competitions.
The Cygnets Level 2 program will allow students to participate in extension classes with like-minded students. Level 2 students will also commence a pre-pointe program to prepare them for pointe work.

Cygnets Level 3 - Students in Intermediate Foundation - Advanced 1 (Saturday 11.00am - 2.30/3.30pm)
Cygnets Level 3 is a unique training program for young, gifted students which has been carefully designed to nurture and develop the talent in promising young dancers. The Cygnets Level 3 Program allows students to participate in a full day of classes in an elite dance-training environment and offers the opportunity for these dancers to extend their technique and also to prepare them for further dance study.
We have carefully designed a program of classes to build strength, technique, musicality & performance quality. Cygnets Level 3 students will undertake a private lesson and be prepared for local and major competitions. Cygnets Level 3 classes will include: Classical Technique, Pointe work, Open Class Work, Limber & Conditioning, self practice time, Repertoire & Character.

Cygnets students will undertake a carefully designed program of classes to build strength, technique, musicality & performance quality appropriate to their age and level.
Level 1 is for students in Jnr 1 & Jnr 2 (in 2025) and will consist of 1.5hrs of additional extension class per week.
Level 2 is for students in Mid 2, Mid 3 & Inter Found (in 2025) and will consist of 2hrs of additional extension classes per week .
Level 3 is for students currently in Intermediate + (in 2025) and will consist of 3.5+ hrs of additional extension classes per week.
Admission to all levels of the Cygnets Program is via application & audition.
Cygnets Level 1 students must also attend their syllabus classes, Jnr Lyrical, & Jnr Stretch in addition to the set Cygnets class.
Cygnets Level 2 students must also attend their syllabus classes, Mid Open Class, Mid Contemporary, Mid KLT & Mid Stretch in addition to the set Cygnets class.
Cygnets Level 3 students must also attend their syllabus classes, Snr Open, Snr KLT, Snr Contemporary and Variations classes in addition to the set Cygnets classes
ALL Cygnets students must be available to commit to group performances throughout the year - these will be advised in advance.
GBTA half day Program
The GBTA half day program is open to students in Year 7+ in 2025 (younger students may be considered dependant on aptitude & ability) Admission to the GBTA half day program is by application & audition. The GBTA half day program will run each Wednesday 1.00 - 3.30pm.
The GBTA Half Day Program is run during the school day and is designed to be taken in place of school sport. It is designed to act as a stepping stone for talented students who may be considering transitioning to full-time study in the future. Ideally students should be also enrolled in the Cygnets program - however, this is at the discretion of the Principal.
GBT Aspire Elite Day Program
The boutique GBT Aspire elite day program is run twice per term as a full day of classes from 9 - 3pm. This program is designed to give students a real insight into the world of full-time dance study. The program is modelled on the training level and curriculum of such programs to ensure students receive the best possible preparation to pursue further study in the future. The GBT Aspire program aims to nurture, extend and enrich the talent of gifted dancers and includes core classes in Conditioning, Limber, Classical Technique, Pointe Work, Repertoire and Theory (including dance history, music, nutrition, anatomy, makeup and audition preparation). Classes will be delivered by GBT Faculty and guest teachers.
Admission to the GBT Aspire elite day program will be offered, by application, to a small number of students who show aptitude and potential in dance. The GBT Aspire elite day program will generally be open to students in Year 7+ in 2025 (younger students may be considered dependant on aptitude & ability) The GBT Aspire elite day program will run on two days each term from 9.30am - 3.30pm (dates TBC)
Admission to the GBTA/Aspire Programs is by application/audition.
GBTA/Aspire students may attend after hours classes at GBT for RAD exams, Jazz, Tap & Contemporary if they wish.
GBTA/Aspire students are also expected to be available to commit to group performances throughout the year - these will be advised in advance.
Contemporary Extension Program (CEP)
The brand new Commercial Extension Program is a unique training program for young, talented students who wish to refine their contemporary technique. The CEP has been carefully designed to nurture and develop the talent in promising young dancers. The CEP Program will included elite level training in Contemporary and Lyrical along with complementary genres such as Jazz & Broadway etc. The new CEP will also include experiences such as mock auditions, performance opportunities and technique courses exploring contemporary technique such as Horton, Cunningham and more. This program will allow students who may be considering pursuing a career in the contemporary dance field, an opportunity to extend their technique and also to prepare them for further dance study.
Admission to the CEP Program is by application/audition.
CEP students must also attend at a minimum of Snr Open, Snr KLT, Snr Contemporary, Snr Jazz, Snr Tap, Snr stretch addition to the set CEP class.
CEP students are also expected to be available to commit to group performances throughout the year - these will be advised in advance.
