Please visit this site for information on the 2024 Canadian National Master Hunt Test hosted by the PEI Retriever Club, August 18-24, 2024. Use the tabs at the top of the page to navigate through information on this site.
The PEI Retriever Club was established in the 1970s by a group of sportsmen who were interested in "hunting retrievers". In the early years, club members primarily trained their dogs as hunting companions, but several also trained for and competed in CKC Retriever Field Trails; many of which were hosted by the PEI Retriever Club. Today the PEI Retriever Club consists of approximately twenty-five (25) dedicated members who collectively pursue the whole spectrum of retriever activities.
The PEI Retriever Club held it's first licensed CKC Hunt Test in 1996, and since that time has held multiple Hunt Tests each and every year.
In 2009 The PEI Retriever Club successfully hosted the National Master Retriever Test.
This past year, the PEI Retriever Club hosted a licensed Field Trial and four licenced Hunt Tests (all levels).
The PEI Retriever Club has access to a wide variety of both land and water sites that are more than suitable for testing at the National Master level. The water sites consist of both natural and man-made ponds. The land sites consist of rolling pastures, crop land and fallow fields. All sites will be manicured to provide an appropriately challenging environment for National Master testing.
