Voice of FJU FM88.5, the campus radio station of Fu Jen Catholic University, has introduced a variety of innovative programming this semester. The station is well-known for encouraging creativity and a sense of community. It pursues its goal of educating, entertaining, and engaging its listeners by providing various content, from urgent societal issues to cultural storytelling.
Cinnamon’s story began at a local animal shelter, where she spent nearly six months waiting for a forever home. She was found as a stray and quickly won over the shelter staff with her friendly demeanor and eagerness to please. When the university’s Wellness Committee started looking for a way to address students' increasing stress levels, they explored various options, including wellness workshops, counseling sessions, and mental health events. The idea of adopting a campus dog emerged after hearing about similar programs at other universities, where therapy animals have been shown to reduce stress, ease feelings of homesickness, and improve overall campus morale.
With the support of donations from alumni and community members, the adoption process was finalized in early September. Cinnamon officially joined the university family as our first-ever school dog, and she’s already made a lasting impact.
Voice of FJU, founded in 2001, continuously supports students’ opinions. Voice of FJU was founded as a platform for experiential learning and student involvement, and it has been a vital component of Fu Jen's communications curriculum ever since. The radio station, located on the eighth floor of the Wenkai Building, serves as a center for social and artistic expression and an educational resource.
