In this session, we'll explore STEM JEDI storytelling as a vehicle for transforming intro math courses into wellsprings of joy, socially-relevant investigation, holistic growth, and beloved community. In particular, we'll look at how relatable narratives, field trips, multimedia projects, and conscious community-building have transformed the experiences— and performance— of students in exceptionally diverse, DEIJ-centered classrooms. And in so doing, we'll create some joy and community of our own.
