Large pile of tires and furniture dumped where we had requested fencing. This appeared to be intentional dumping. We were glad to have long-time Citizen Patrol member Scotty help bring this issue to the media. Mike McKnight from Channel 6 showed up to cover the story. Click link below to see the news story.
Illegal dumping and frustrations mount at South Omaha Park
YouTube video showing same area as in news story. A small bit of fencing was requested but never happened. We spent years removing trash in this poorly maintained area. It should be noted that there was a fence here that the city removed.
Picture below taken during May 2019 flooding. Looking east toward the power plant one can see the bottoms flooded to Lake Manawa.
