I'm not 100% certain that this cowboy hero was named "Tex", but there is such a wild west character in 1940's comics history and most likely they are the same. These are the only panels I still have from the original comic book and therefore I have no idea in which book it was included. It may have been a secondary story or part of a western anthology issue. I acquired it as part of a small group of vintage comics and Mad Magazines that a friend's older brother was throwing away, in rather rough condition.
My post puberty "fantasy" component involved Farrell coming to her rescue and then domesticating the vanquished but now adoring bad girl. I'm guessing that this is a very primal thing, something that we are simply wired for as humans. What this says about my attraction to "bad girls" and our predisposition toward certain male and female roles I leave to your contemplation.
