Beaver Scouts are boys and girls aged 5-7 years. They learn new things and enjoy various adventures along the way. Fun and friendship are the cornerstones of the Beaver program. Youth explore a little bit of everything; through nature walks, short hikes, tree planting, games, crafts and family events. Beaver Scouts is about teamwork, cooperation and developing self-confidence.
A Beaver Scout Section is called a “Colony” and youth within a Colony are organized into smaller teams called “Lodges”. The motto for Beaver Scouts is: Sharing, Sharing, Sharing and through Beavers, youth develop a respect for nature and others while exploring the world around them.
Beaver Scout Motto: Sharing, Sharing, Sharing
Beaver Scout Law: A Beaver has fun, works hard and helps family and friends.
Beaver Scout Promise: I promise to love God and help take care of the world. OR I promise to be kind and to help take care of the world.
Camping
Beavers will have a chance to attend at least 1 virtual at home camp per year where they will interact online with their Scouters and peers, while completing specific activities, hikes and other events with their family.
Beaver Buggies Competition
Beaver Buggies Races take place mid to late February or March. All youth will receive a car kit and be given time at a meeting for decorating the car. We will then have an opportunity to race the buggies in-person. Travelling may be required, but we will find the closest races available to each of your home locations.
Fundraising
Beaver Scouts are encouraged to do their best to help with our fundraisers throughout the year. This helps keep costs as low as possible and enable us to book special virtual meetings and other items with extra costs.
