Registration:

Registration is online only. It opens on September 15th for the 2025 Scouting year.  Participants will be able to begin Scouting as soon as they are registered in 2024, thus getting four months of Scouting free.  Refunds for Scouting are given until January 31st, 2025, so come join our virtual scout group for 4.5 months with no risk and full refunds!!

As we don’t collect weekly dues, we do collect group fees on top of the Scouts Canada fee.  Scouts Canada charges $270 per Scouting year.  Our group charges another $40 upon registration.  The total registration cost will be $310.

Where do Scouts Canada registration fees go?

Approximately 10% goes directly to the 1st Ontario Virtual Scout Group to help cover basic Group costs, such as badges and craft supplies.

90% of your registration fee goes to Scouts Canada to cover the cost of:

• Training materials and resources for leaders

• Planning programs and activities for youth (these must be planned meticulously to ensure compliance with insurance and health standards) 

• Publications and handbooks

• Providing service and support to 20 Councils across Canada

• Volunteer servicing expenses

• World Scouting fee

• Risk Management

Where do Group registration fees go?

• Crests

• Badges

• Neckers

• Crafts and weekly activities

• Beaver Buggies, Kub Kars, Scouts Trucks

• Mail Outs

• Camp fees

• Camp Equipment

• etc.

Fundraisers help to keep camps and other expenses as low as possible.  

Being a virtual group, you may be required to purchase glue or other Dollar Store supplies as well as baking supplies, although we try to supply and mail out most items that are required.

No One Left Behind financial subsidies ensure that all youth can experience great Scouting adventures.  Application is available to all during registration.  Please see the No One Left Behind link for more information.  No One Left Behind can also be used for uniforms, equipment, camp fees, etc. after registration within myscouts.
