Group Trustees

The Group Trustees are a collection of adults who help govern and support the group - a bit like school governors crossed with a parent/teacher association (PTA).

There are a range of parents and non-parents on the committee to get a balanced viewpoint.

Our Chairperson is like a figurehead but is a proactive role,  and is accompanied by two further people - the Secretary and Treasurer. The three are known as Officers.

The other members may bring opinions, skills or connections for the Group. Some may focus on fundraising, others on adult recruitment or just generally helping out.

Again all are volunteers and have to undertake some mandatory training to ensure they operate within the Charity Commission regulations as well as Scouts rulings and guidance. Training covers the ethos and values of Scouting, Safety and Safeguarding, plus GDPR.
