What do Cubs do?
What don't Cubs do is probably easier to answer. Cub Scouts really enjoy new adventures while making new friends along the way. Their commitment is recognised by over thirty activity badges. As well as regular weekly meeting, Cub Scouts also enjoy activity days, camps and Pack holidays. Boys and girls:
Go camping
Play games
Explore the outdoors
Try adventurous activities – such as climbing, kayaking, raft building and archery
Meet people from their local community and from the wider world
Experience the culture of other countries
Try new things from abseiling to zorbing, shooting to go karting, martial arts to tomahawk throwing, model making to soapbox cart racing
Develop their leadership skills and build confidence
Keep themselves and others safe
Make use of new technologies as well as using the basic skills of survival
We are all different but have the same goals
We are 8, 9 and 10 years old and are looked after a Team who are all volunteers and a little crazy (well some of them). The Leaders plan a range of activities and take ideas from the Cubs.
The Leaders names are based around Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book characters and Cub Scouts form a Cub Pack (like a pack of wolves). They then have teams which are called Sixes and have a colour to denote which Six they are in. The Six is led by a senior Cub called a Sixer and is assisted by a Seconder (their deputy).
