Mosaicos II

Maurits Cornelis Escher (Países Bajos, 1898-1972) fue un artista neerlandés maestro de las figuras imposibles, las ilusiones ópticas y los mundos imaginarios interesado por la representación de espacios paradójicos.

Estudió arquitectura presionado por su padre aunque abandonó poco después pasando a ser discípulo de un profesor de artes gráficas. De este aprendió conocimientos básicos de dibujo y la técnica de grabado en madera.

A lo largo de su vida, ha viajado por países como Italia y Suiza, adquiriendo distintas formas y temas de dibujo. Pero destacando mayormente por sus teselaciones en la cuales los espacios entre figuras crean otras figuras inspirado por su viaje a la Alhambra.

Maurits Cornelis Escher (Netherlands, 1898-1972) was a Dutch artist master of imposible figures, optical ilussions and imaginary worlds, interested in the representation of paradoxical places.

He studied arquitecture pressured by his dad but he gave up after a while, becoming a disciple of a teacher of arts, who taught him the basic knowledges of drawing and the technique of engraving in wood.

Throughout his life, he has travelled to countries like Italy and Switzerland, where he learnt different forms and topics of drawing. Althrought, he has stood up principally thanks to his tesseras in which the spaces in between forms create other forms inspirated due to his trip to ''La Alhambra''.
