RUN REPORT

Not sure how much of it was the heat and how much was the affects of the previous 10 days, but I spent most of the first half feeling sick and whilst my mile pace was fairly consistent, it was consistently slower than on previous days (albeit not helped by having to weave through hoards of tourists for the last couple of miles along the South Bank).

The route itself actually proved to be today’s saving grace. Another beautifully scenic run throughout, but the genius part was that the distance between each bridge got closer and closer the deeper into the run I got. Which meant targets came up sooner and before I knew it, I’d forgotten all about feeling sick.

And then came ‘the wall.’ However, unlike with runs over the weekend, this wasn’t the kind of wall many marathon runners face, which hits you out of nowhere, like a punch in the gut making you feel like crawling on hands and knees to the finish line. No, on this occasion, the wall of remembrance along the South Bank, provided a timely motivational kick, which added a bit of a kick to my finish, squeezing half marathon #11 in, just (!!) under the 1:45 mark.

Two more to go. Thanks as always for following and for the support!!
