RUN REPORT
Into double figures! 😁 🏃🏻 🏃🏻 🏃🏻
Bit of a weird day in truth, starting with dinner. Yes, you read correctly. After having felt low on energy for the past two days, I decided to flip my fuelling plan on its head, having a pasta meal for breakfast, then cereal for lunch.
Felt pretty good in the morning. Then jumped on the train to head up to the City and felt frankly dreadful all the way up (to the point I actually thought I was going to have to cancel a run). Persevered, got the warm up done, and then felt great. 🤷🏻♂️
Blessed with near perfect weather again, I headed off from near to Tower Gateway, in the direction of Canary Wharf, with a little more spring in my step. Garmin Navigation on the other hand, decided it wasn't feeling too well again until midway through the run. In fact it would perhaps be fair to say that navigating by the sun might have been more accurate/helpful. But... I like to plan for all eventualities and the hard copy tucked into my running vest ensured no major re-routing episodes today, and once I'd got back to Limehouse, it was pretty plain sailing from there.
Having Tower Bridge, Southwark Park (which hosts the event village for CRY's annual Heart of Bridges Walk) and Greenwich Market to aim for, definitely helped and there can be few better places to finish a run than the iconic Cutty Sark.
Another great route and although the fatigue in my legs is starting to mount and make the final miles of each run tougher, half marathon #10 was thoroughly enjoyable.
