13 in 13 Challenge
13 Half Marathons in 13 days, in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young.
ABOUT THE 13 IN 13 CHALLENGE
From the 10th to 22nd May 2024, I am attempting to run 13 half marathons in 13 days to mark the 13th anniversary of the passing of Emma Broad, who passed away aged 16 in her sleep as a result of sudden cardiac arrest.
Each day I will take on a different route, of 13.1 miles or more, to raise money for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), a registered charity whose vision is 'Preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families.'
You can follow my progress on this website with daily run reports, including the highs and lows, laughs and learnings along the way. Whilst there is a personal element to the Challenge, ultimately the goal is to help save lives. If you are able to support me in any way, be that through sponsorship, encouragement or simply spreading the word, I would be immensely grateful.
LIVE LAUGH LOVE (and RUN)!
TRAINING
My 13 in 13 Challenge is the second part of a charitable campaign to raise awareness about sudden cardiac death and to raise funds for the charity CRY.
Part One was a 365-day long commitment to hit the roads every day for a year and also served as training for the 13 in 13 Challenge.
