This is for the beginning ag student that isn't sure which path they would like to take. In this SAE the student needs to accumulate a total of 45 hours of work outside the classroom learning about agriculture, careers in agriculture, or just experiencing a variety of items that fall under the agriculture umbrella. Students will journal their hours in their online record book.
In this type of SAE the student actually owns/runs a business of their own. It may be buying, raising, and showing livestock; or it could be managing their own lawn business; or growing and selling their own fruits or vegetables. The purpose of this SAE is to teach students to have responsibility and learn to keep accurate records, both financially and through journaling.
In this SAE students work or intern in an agriculture related business. This placement can be a paid position or a non-paid position. Students in this type of SAE are focusing on a job or career that they want to learn more about and build on. Students will be required to keep both financial (if the position is paid) records and journal their time spent on the job.
This SAE is for students that are interested in the how and why. In this project students choose a topic and formulate their own hypothesis and then complete a science based research project and experiement testing their hypothesis. Students will keep very detailed records on finances, research, and journal their experiences.
