Final Project
This is my final project and it was made using a laser cutter and the CNC machine we have at D-Tech and trust me it looks a lot better in person. Let me explain it a little, I like lotus flowers so I did this, there is the explanation. The laser cut portion was from a drawing I made and it is a lot darker cut then I thought it would be but if you see it in picture and more it around it is really cool and you can see all the different details at different angles, for perspective my original drawing is below it. Another reason the laser cut didn't turn out great was because of the wood grains that kinda distorted the image and made it look a little but unreadable, but I still like it and if you din't then thats your problem not mine, sorry but I'm not trying to sell it as a product its more just cause I wanted to make it and kinda had toooo sooooooo. Also as I said before, I totally didn't spell lotus wrong, psh no no no see what I did is I CNC cut Lotas onto the wood because it is a company name I'm thinking of, duh, I'm not just super dyslexic and kinda stupid. The lines that I made with the CNC were to make the piece of wood look like different pieces of cut wood put together, if that makes any sense cause I kinda phrased it weird, but because I laser engraved after I CNC cut it took away from the look a little but I mean I kinda like how it engraved in the gaps, its cool. So this is what I have created and it was so hard to think of but I really like it and I'm going to put it up in my room later. I think if I were to make it again however I would probably redraw the lotus flower on a white sheet of paper and do all the same things again before engraving just so it wouldn't be as dark. It was mainly that dark because of the yellow ish paper that I drew it on because when I put into inkscape it became a problem but at the time I didn't have time to redraw it and make it different. I would also pick a better piece of wood cause THAT PIECE OF WOOD WAS THE WORST!!! I had to sand it so much and it was still kinda gross, I would get wood that wasn't super used and destroyed over time. I think i might remake it next year with better wood and a better inkscape design only cause I really love the idea of this but the execution wasn't spectacular even though I like it anyway, I just don't love it, but I will try again and maybe if i fix it enough it will be a great product for my amazing company idea the Lotas...duh.
June 6, 2019 - Blog Post 16
SOOOOOOOOOO this week I technically didn't need a blog so I'm going to make this short and sweet which is rare for me so take it and shut up....please. The picture is of a piece of wood I CNC cut for my final project in D-Tech. I need to laser cut a lotus flower in it now and PSSHHH NO I DID NOT SPELL LOTUS WRONG...its just my new company name idea, duh. Just leave me alone about my mistakes, ok? Thanks, bye.
May 30, 2019 - Blog Post 15
This week I got journeyman in CNC with my tree CNC. I also painted it which was one of the most annoying things I've ever done in my entire life, but now it looks cool. I only need mastery in Electronics and CNC now and then I will have all mastery. I'm honestly so proud of myself and how far I have come over the past year in all the machines. Even though lately life has been kicking my butt I feel better this week and getting journeyman in CNC is one of the reasons for that. I still need to start my 2 machine final but I have an idea of what I am doing which is really good and it shouldn't be to hard but hopefully it will look super cool. The biggest problem right now is that everyone is using the CNC and it sucks cause they are doing longer cuts so I can't get to it to do my 7 minute cut. I also need to create a 3D design to CNC which will be really cool to do, but it will also most likely be extremely frustrating knowing my luck with programs. That's all for this week.
May 23, 2019 - Blog Post 14
This week, or at least today has been pretty good. Ok I think I just designed on Tuesday and then on Wednesday at lunch screamed about stupid things that were happening with carbit create because ITS A STUPID PROGRAM BECAUSE IT DIDN'T TAKE MY DESIGN!!! Then today I successfully CNC cut my design (to the left) and it looks good and I'm happy about it. Today Miller was giving stuff away cause he is moving classrooms so I got a rat (that I later gave to Chloe's dogs because I don't need it and my room is already full of unneeded things), a jacket its fancy and nice, and a soldier poster that I didn't want to take a picture of cause I'm lazy but thank you Miller, you made my day with cool things that I didn't need but took anyways. I feel like I can accomplish some things now and I'm feeling better and more hopeful which is odd for me since I am a pessimist.
May 16,2019 - Blog Post 13
On Tuesday I past CNC safety test and I got journeyman in Electronics which was honestly super fun. I got to play with this circuit thing, I forgot what it was called exactly but it was fun. I also soldered a wire and tested it with a multimeter. I also tried to fix the earring I made earlier but it hasn't worked to well and they keep breaking so I need to figure out how to fix that. On Thursday I was sick and I honestly forgot to do my blog because of that so no its Sunday and I'm feeling a lot better which is nice and next week I am planning on getting novice and maybe journeyman in CNC and I'm going to ty and get mastery in electronics before the end of the year which may be a lot harder then I think because time is running out and the exposition is at the end of the year and we are supposed to use multiple machines for that exposition thing and I have no idea what I am going to do yet. I'm stressed, kinda scared, and very worried and now I just have to start making priorities and figure things out and somehow not be distracted by the other stupid problems in my life right now. School is almost over and my life is falling apart and right now everything sucks but that's life I guess, at least occasionally which sucks but oh well.

May 9, 2019 - Blog Post 12
This week I went on a field trip to HAAS which is a CNC company. They make big, high quality CNC machines that can cut through a lot of different materials including metal. It was really cool and they had a race car that they made there although I think I realized I don't want a job like that because it isn't much hands on work except for fixing robots or machines that break and that isn't what I really want to do. This week I also made a design that D-Tech can use when fundraising for a gravity water project. They are little tear drop earrings in different sizes. They were prototypes so there sis only one of each size but I redesigned them once and then cut the ones below. I have to redesign them again just to fix the one edge that broke in the picture, it was to weak due to how thin the side was. Oh I also passed my safety test and got novice for electronics. I made a simple circuit that honestly isn't that interesting soo I'm not going to put a picture of it in but I mean I did it so yeah.
April 2, 2019 - Blog Post 11
This week we tested our cardboard chairs and some of them were really bad, no offense to anyone, and some were really good. Our chair held up for a little but then the legs buckled and it broke soooo yeah, but we got third place. House loadstone won and their chair was really nice but it also kinda made everyone in the room sick cause they spray painted it right before we tested them. On Thursday we learned how to build small shelves with Gozik and it was super fun and I loved my shelf. I was going to paint it and use it in my room later. Next week we need to pass the safety tests for CNC and electronics. That's really it for this week.
April 25, 2019 - Blog Post 10
We had the exhibition this week which went really well and I was proud of my work. I made a slide show of what I made because most of what I made was no longer around my house or the lab or was already put up. I mean the only really CRUIAL (I think I spelled that wrong but oh well) part is that I got full credit on it so yeah. Ok I know Miller already knows this but I just wanted to say that I AM SO FRUSTRATED WITH THE SENIORS RIGHT NOW!!! Not all of them just some of them. Most of them are super chill and cool, even if one always hits me with paper if I ask stupid questions but I honestly just find that funny. Just they are so disrespectful and rude sometimes and I don't understand it and it INFURIATES ME! They literally just trash talked me after I gave them something, like WHAT THE HELL!!! I somehow also feel bad about it like it is my fault and like I should be better but I did nothing wrong. AHHHHHHH I mess almost everything, it's just my talent. Anyway all that aside, in Dynasty 3 we started a house joust of building a chair out of cardboard for Miller. It sounded horrible at first but it is actually pretty cool. I mean its also kinda stupid (no offense Miller), but I mean who needs a cardboard thrown??? The only answer to that is DICTATOR MILLER!!! Like seriously though he is the only person who would ever do that. I feel like an absolute wreck right now and I am just so done with life but hey there is always tomorrow which I sadly have to spend at confirmation FOR THE WHOLE DAY!!! I consider it literal torture....also for context sake its Friday...I know I didn't do my blog on Thursday but look IM BUSY SOOOO SHHHHHHHH!!! Oh also Miller said I write the exact same way I talk and I'm like YEP thats the point soooooooooooooo if you hate my writing then you honestly should never meet me. Ok yes I know I'm ranting and just writing at this point but I kinda need it cause I know that at least one person that I trust can read it and I just need that reassurance when ranting, duh. Ok so turns out my OCD is going t make me write more to fill out a certain thing and I don't feel like changing what I already wrote sooo yeah, I'm sorry but hey I hope you had an amazing day, meaning it was the opposite of mine and I wish you the best of luck with life. Also if this is Miller then good luck with your kiddos cause lets be real kids kinda suck but they are cute, I guess. They are just a lot of work. This doesn't really have to do with anyone but no one actually cares when I say this sooo I mean you have the choice of reading it but my back hurts so badly right now. I can't sit comfortably, its AWFUL. Ok you know what this isn't enough writing but I don't care enough to keep writing essentially nothing cause my OCD isn't that bad, as I twitch when I write that. Ok seriously now good bye!
April 18, 2019 - Blog Post 9
This weekend we went camping at El Captain. I had so much fun! It was my favorite trip, and it was fun and relaxing. I wish I was still camping to be honest. On Tuesday me and Chloe vinyl cut 4 D-Tech logo stickers and then started mixing the colors to make the shading that is in the original design. It was harder then we thought and I HATED DOING THE FIRST ONE!!! It took FOREVER!!! But they look really good and we made the other 2 today and put 1 of them up which was also really hard because it didn't want to stick to the wall! I'm proud of it though. We need to made one more of the final stickers but we are out of transfer paper so we couldn't but we will later. Also we may do an entire new round of stickers too so we have a lot more to put in all the places we want D-Tech logos. Hopefully Mr. Miller will be proud. Mr. Li really liked the logo we put up which was nice because I stressed about if he thought it looked bad or not. Watch, now that one teacher liked it I can just see Miller come in and be like "Oh that's what you did" all disappointed in it or something just for the hell of it. (Please don't do that Mr. Miller). Anyway its been a pretty cool and fun week. We just need to finish some stuff up before switching stations next week. YAY!!! Also its a 3 day weekend for me which is sooooooooo nice. I need it, I'm tired. Also this doesn't have to do with D-Tech but while I was writing this I got bored and painted a rock with clear nail polish...I just thought someone should know. (Don't judge me Miller...its to late I know you already are and I just know you are going to add a sarcastic commit to my grade). OHHHHH YEAHHHHH!!! ALSO!!! I learned how to tie a bow tie, this also doesn't really pertain to D-Tech but you DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW PROUD I AM THAT I CAN DO THAT!!! And yes I have the best of bow ties OF COURSE!!! Sorry I just NEEDED to add that. Ok now I think I'm done. Oh and to anyone who doesn't know me and is reading this...yes this is how I am all the time, just let it happen.
April 11, 2019 - Blog Post 8
So during spring break we I wasn't able to go into the lab, obviously, but did paint my room and refurbish a chair at my house that will go into my room later when I am completely done with it.This week in the lab my house couldn't use the vinyl cutter because the seniors had a job that they needed 300 stickers for so I couldn't get D-Tech logos and other projects done, but Naomi, Sara, and me built some shelves in the shed for wood which was productive and fun. We also organized some things around the lab with made it a nicer and easier for find certain things. Also the shed that we have is very tilted for some weird reason so all the previous shelves in there were titled too, BUT we made our selfs level and we were very very proud of that cause it is nice to have a good and level shelf. Oh also I am going on a D-Tech camping trip this weekend with some kids in my class which will be fun hopefully. I have just been mentally done lately and I just need a break so camping will hopefully be that break for me. I was also planning on vinyl cutting some things tomorrow if I have time so that would get some stress out of the way.
March 28, 2019 - Blog Post 7
So this week has been kinda productive. We mainly just tired to finish all the stuff we have been doing in propaganda and I got my mastery in propaganda now. We got a button maker which is fun to use and we made Leviathan pins and I made some pride pins and I also made some designs for pins that I want to make when I have some time. Chloe and me went around the D-Tech pod and class room to find some different propaganda ideas for our areas and we came up with some good ideas that we are going to design and make hopefully really soon. You always got to have propaganda everywhere why you may ask? BECAUSE D-TECH IS GREAT AND EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW!!! Also you want to be able to find things easily in the lab. Next week is spring break so we won't get anything done then except designs we can do in free time.
March 21, 2019 - Blog Post 6
This week my house silk screened our D-Tech t-shirts. Some of them turned out really good and some turned out...just turned out. I silk screened most of them because people asked me too but everyone got to silk screen on different things. Our design was hard to silk screen because it was really big and so it was really hard to get all the letter on the shirts. Having consistent pressure on the screen starting before the letters was really hard so that is why I did some peoples shirts because they couldn't get the letters on the material. We all used black ink for the design but I have a blue D-Tech logo on the front of my shirt and I just have to say it gives me anxiety! Yes, I care about that simple detail...and why you ask? BECAUSE IT IS IMPORTANT!!! We also put up our lanyard holder finally!!! It looks good and its level and I put it up cause I'm amazing at stuff.
March 14, 2019 - Blog Post 5
This weekend we made our screen for silk screening. We haven't gotten to putting the design on our t-shirts yet, but we have practiced on paper and will most likely finish our shirts by next week. There as been a lot of things happening with the houses in D-Tech and the only house that hasn't split or changed any members is house Leviathan which is my house, cause we are the best. We have had our own problems before but we have or are working them out in a civilized way by using communication. I still have my own disagreements with people, and for valid reasons, but I am working them out and trying to communicate with them about it. Everything has been going pretty good, but depressing, mainly because we are learning about the Holocaust in history but that's besides the point. This week has been pretty productive and useful because of getting all of the silk screening stuff done which was nice.
March 7, 2019 - Blog Post 4
This week I didn't have much to do and the vinyl cutter broken I think but some seniors fixed it and I'm pretty sure we still don't have transfer paper so I didn't use that machine this week. My house is planning to meet up to make the screen for silk screening this weekend but until then we couldn't use that station thing. So essentially what I am saying is all I did this week was photoshop things and print them out which was fun. I photoshopped my sister's face on a giraffe for her birthday. I photoshopped my bother's face on a Dalmatian for fun. I printed two normal pictures of me and my other brother cause he didn't want me to photoshop his face on an animal. And finally I printed out a poster for my friend cause yeah I'm nice...occasionally. It was a fun week I enjoyed myself.
February 28, 2019 - Blog Post 3
So I made my idea from last week. It turned out a lot darker then I intended but I love it cause its hilarious. It say "D-Tech means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten...unless you don't do your blogs. They are due Friday." if you couldn't read it all. Mr. Miller is the grim reaper... and not cause he is old (I'm sorry about Shakti's comment, Mr. Miller). He is the grim reaper cause he kills peoples grades when they don't do their blogs, which isn't his fault he is just doing his job, amazingly I might add. He is a really cool teacher, mainly cause he didn't get mad at me when I made him the grim reaper. I can't vinyl cut anything right now cause we don't have transfer paper but we are getting some more soon so I will cut my sticker that matches my poster. I mean I am in the propaganda station so what is better then creating propaganda about blog posts, AM I RIGHT? I had a pretty decent week in general and a really fun D-Tech week which was super nice cause usually I'm super stressed in D-Tech but I haven't been this week. Anyway until next week I guess? I hate ending blog I never know how to anyway bye.
February 21, 2019 - Blog Post 2
I earned my mastery in laser cutting because I finished my Martial Arts Belt Rack instructions. I'm really proud of what I have made. I also probably got novice for propaganda because today I printed a stitch poster type thing on the Cannon 2000 and I DIDN'T BREAK ANYTHING!!! I don't know why but the giant printer scares me so much! I also laser cut two little butterflies for the kids I am babysitting today. I thought they would like to maybe color them and then I could make them into either a magnet using magnet tape or a hair clip if I have some of those like alligator clip things. Yes I'm that type of person who does that those types of things cause its ADORABLE and its nice so leave me alone. Anyway i still haven't felt the best but I know I can't fix it for various reasons which really hurts and is making me feel off but it's ok. Oh also Mr. Miller just gave me the idea to make a poster like the Ohana one but instead make it say "D-Tech means family. February 14, 2019 - Blog Post 1
This week I passed my safety test for silk screening which was a little complicated because I had to learn about the process for making a design on the screen which sensitive due to light exposure and stuff so basically it's confusing. I am now able to use any of the machines in the propaganda station cause I passed all 3 safety tests but I'm still kinda nervous about all of it. I also did my first vinyl cut which was the D-Tech logo cause obviously I need to show my pride for this great academy duh. Unfortunately I was unable to get the letters for one of them cause they were to small but it still looks really cool so I don't mind. My week mentally has really sucked but that's not cause of D-Tech it's just my life has been a little bit of a mess and it's been distracting me a little. I haven't been thinking of things to design or stuff like that which is disappointing to me but I will get back to designing probably this weekend or something.
