Round Table Sessions are a great opportunity to meet faculty and learn about other students’ projects. These sessions are loosely designed after the speed dating concept, and the pace is quite fast, so it is important to come prepared.
There are multiple round table sessions. Students connect in small groups with a single faculty member to present ideas. Each student is given 5 minutes to interact with the faculty member. We suggest that students prepare a concise 2-minute idea presentation in order to get 3 minutes of faculty feedback.
Students may request to meet with up to 5 faculty members when filling out Round Table Request Form. While every effort is made to ensure that student choice is respected, it is important to note that student assignments are made without faculty input. Thesis students are prioritized if all other considerations are equal.
It is very likely that you will be placed in sessions with faculty you did not request. The Program does not guarantee that any student will be able to work with any one particular faculty member.
A student may elect to be assigned by the Program and not state any preference. The Program will take into consideration the student's focus and history in the Program when assigning all students.
* Attendance at all assigned Round Table sessions is mandatory.
* Students who fail to submit this form by the deadline forfeit preference and will be randomly assigned Round Table participation.
