1st Residency (New Students)
All incoming students need to populate the Home Page if their Project Site and give an Introductory Presentation that introduces their work to date and goals for their time at VCFA.
After individual meetings with prospective advisors for the coming semester, students submit the Advisor Request Form.
After receiving final approval from their advisors, students submit the Semester Study Plan, outlining their study plans for the upcoming semester.
Between 1st and 2nd Residency
Students submit monthly deliverables to their Faculty Advisor and complete Monthly Worklogs. The Faculty Advisor also completes a Monthly Report for all of their advisees.
Students submit the Midterm Evaluation.
Students upload work to their Project Site for the Midterm Work Share.
At mid-term students are assigned by the Program to small Work Share group and provide critical feedback to other members of the group via the Film Commons site.
Approximately one week before the 2nd residency, students submit the End of Semester Reflection, and an Advisor Evaluation.
Prior to residency, students upload final work for the semester to their Project Site.
2nd Residency (Continuing Students)
Students present work during a Critique.
After individual meetings and Round Table Sessions with prospective advisors for the coming semester, students submit the Advisor Request Form.
After receiving final approval from their advisors, students submit the Semester Study Plan, outlining their study plans for the upcoming semester.
Midterm between 2nd and 3rd Residency
Students submit monthly deliverables to their Faculty Advisor and complete Monthly Worklogs. The Faculty Advisor also completes a Monthly Report for all of their advisees.
Students submit the Midterm Evaluation.
Students upload work to their Project Site for the Midterm Work Share.

Students discuss their Thesis Project ideas with their advisors during the semester, and email them a draft version of their Thesis Proposals as part of the final deliverables for discussion in the final feedback session.
Two weeks before residency, students submit the Thesis Proposal Form.
Approximately one week before residency, students submit the End of Semester Reflection, and an Advisor Evaluation.
Prior to residency, students upload final work for the semester to their Project Sites.
3rd Residency (Beginning Thesis Students)
Students present work during a Critique.
Students give a Thesis Proposal Presentation, outlining the work they plan to accomplish for a Thesis Project in the coming year.
After individual meetings and Round Table Sessions with prospective advisors for the coming semester, students submit the Advisor Request Form.
After receiving final approval from their advisors, students submit the Semester Study Plan, outlining their study plans for the upcoming semester.
Students submit a revised final Thesis Proposal.
Midterm between 3rd and 4th Residency
Students submit monthly deliverables to their Faculty Advisor and complete Monthly Worklogs. The Faculty Advisor also completes a Monthly Report for all of their advisees.
Students submit the Midterm Evaluation.
Students upload work to their Project Site for the Midterm Work Share.

Students present their Thesis Projects.
Commencement is on the final Saturday.
