• Digital Cinema Society: The Digital Cinema Society is a nonprofit educational cooperative dedicated to the industry’s informed integration of new technology. Formed in 2003, as an outgrowth of a pro bono documentary on the subject of Digital Cinema, we now have an international membership of approximately 6,500 and count some of the top filmmaking, technology, and business leaders in the Entertainment Industry among our membership.

• The Society for Cinema and Media Studies is a community of individuals and institutions actively engaged with the study of the moving image. SCMS is dedicated to encouraging and rewarding excellence in scholarship and writing, to facilitating and improving the teaching of media studies as a discipline, and to advancing multicultural awareness and interaction. The SCMS Graduate Students Organization is the largest membership group in SCMS, and represents the next generation of film, television, and new media scholars.

ShareGrid Here you can rent everything production-related, from cameras, lighting, sound and accessories to locations—and you’re renting from other filmmakers. ShareGrid connects creatives and facilitates a low-risk rental service for filmmakers to pool their resources. Anyone can list their gear for rental (that includes you!), so let your investments make money for you when you’re not in the filming stage. 

Free Music

Free Music Archive A database of FREE download of diverse, original music from independent artists to perfectly set the mood for your scene. Search their library by genre, feeling, energy, duration and for instrumentals and vocals

Audio Jungle, Music Bed, or Audio Network offer connections with composers, or to select free or inexpensive music for your film. Fees range from $1 – $50 per track, which go to directly support artists.

Stock Footage

Archive.org A non-profit with a large library of footage, images and music in the public domain. historical footage for a documentary to generic footage of a birthday party, Archive.org may have what you’re looking for.
