AHHHHHH, Zombies!
Introducing the Tallwood Highschool 2023 Model UN Crisis Topic:
Citizens of the world,
The inevitable has finally happened.
The Zombie virus, called, 'solanum' has corrupted the human populace and we now find ourselves in the midst of a bloody, global war that has left many dead... or worse, un-dead.
Affected countries from all over the world have sent uniquely-skilled representatives to combat these new threats through diplomacy, military, and other means.
We need you, yes, YOU to travel to the conference to defeat the virus before everyone we know and love is nothing more than a shell of their former selves.
Receive your role, work together, defeat the Zombies, win the war.
We're all counting on you.
Signed,
Shenan Lewis
Tallwood MUN Crisis Co-Chair
Background:
The Zombie virus was first officially recognized in the small, unmarked city of Old Dachang, China. However, other sources have implied that the virus was present in China in other places before it was found in the first victim. From there, it has spread globally-- commonly first appearing in the less afluent areas of big cities. (i.e. Paris, Cape Town.)
Zombies are recorded to have gray skin, with sunken eyes. They commonly have missing limbs, but this does not seem to deter them in any way. In fact, their limbs seem overall flimsy and snap easily-- however zombies do not bleed, and these limbs remain active even when disconnected from the rest of the body. Zombies are undeterred by stab wounds, gun shots, punches, and essentially all classic forms of military offense.
The Zombie virus seems to be mostly caused by being bitten by an infected persons... if you can still call them "persons." However, there are exceptions.
Zombies do not discriminate between living meat, but seem to have an acute preference for the human kind.

A crisis position paper can be in any format you'd like. Common forms include letters and journal entries. In this you want to detail what you want to achieve in the conference and how you'd like to do it. This should include your crisis arc, or "secret agenda." By doing this will help our background team ensure we have a fun crisis.
Crisis is all about the chaos and fun of a scenario! You want to be the loudest presence in the front room working to solve the issue, while in the backroom you want to further your own secret agenda.
In the front room, work to solve the issue and form alliances with other delegates. In the back room, make as many issues as possible for your peers. We will give a more thorough introduction to the ins and outs of crisis at the conference, but please come prepared with your own crisis arc, or "secret agenda"!
