Topic 1 - The Blight of Green Rain

Drowning the balmy beaches and blooming forests of Pelican Town in mysterious greenery and goo-like substances, the so-called ‘Green Rain’ occurs almost every summer. While some claim the rain holds potential danger, the general consensus was that it is harmless. However, this year, the meteorological anomaly has taken a new form. Since the first day of Summer, monsoon-like rains have plagued the town, forcing residents indoors and leaving little room for sunlight. Plants grow rapidly, blocking walkways and damaging infrastructure. Some claim damage is negligible and there’s nothing to be done, while others worry that these rains will not only cause irreparable damage, but can—and should—be stopped.

Topic 2 - Joja Cola Blast!™

Multinational conglomerate entity Joja is thrilled to be opening a new location in Pelican Town! In addition to its current storefront behind the local library, the company is planning to establish a “Soda Emporium™” by the mountains in order to promote its new brand of Joja Cola: Joja Cola Blast!™! The storefront will be located along the new-and-improved Joja Brand™ railroad tracks, which will now run directly above the river in town to a new underground railroad system under the sea. Certain residents feel the endorsement of the Joja Brand™ and Joja Cola Blast!™ will bring the town the revenue it needs to improve, yet others remain unconvinced.
