Please keep in mind that scheduling can (and most likely will) change based on VBCPS, OLHS, OLTC, as well as the needs of the particular production. Keep communication open with your parental figures, and remember to remain flexible and positive at all times. 

Ensure that you are balancing your home life, academic life, and your involvement with  this production. Many people are counting on you to HONOR YOUR COMMITMENT.

Notice: Cast and Production Team of the VHSL One-Act Competition Play must remain available for refresh rehearsals based upon potential advancements and plan to take part in Founder's Week performances @ OLHS (dates / blocks / times TBD). Founder's Week takes place the week of February 26 - March 1, 2024.

We are incredibly excited to officially announce our VHSL competition one-act production, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST (30-minute version)- A Trivial Comedy for Serious People (adapted by Jason Pizzarello and based upon the classic by Oscar Wilde).

*Auditions: Tuesday, November 28, 2023 (2 pm - 7 pm, room 108 / OLHS)

*Please arrange rides / homework / food (a snack) BEFORE auditions just in case we need you to stay until 7 pm since we're only offering one day of auditions for this show.

There is no need to memorize anything in preparation for auditions, but familiarizing yourself with the characters, plot, etc. is always helpful.

Those auditioning should also complete the Actor Application BEFORE you audition on Tues. Nov. 28. The application will be posted within the next day or two and linked within the OLTC website (VHSL One-Act play dropdown).

Tuesday, November 28, 2023 (2:10 pm - 7:30 pm, room 108)

*It is strongly recommended that those auditioning plan to attend the entire time, in order for proper casting consideration; please inform the adult directors if you are unable. The directors are flexible and will work with you to the best of our ability. 

If you are planning to audition for the VHSL One-Act Competition Play, please complete the audition application ahead of time (by 2 pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023). Those without applications on file may not be permitted to audition for this production. The Audition Application is linked below under Resources.

Those planning to audition do not need prior theatre experience (as an actor or production team member); we are looking for positive, hard-working and dedicated individuals to join our cast and theatre company. 

Those auditioning do not need to prepare anything in advance other than complete the audition application, read character bios and perhaps watch any production videos on YouTube (or streaming) in order to get a sense as to the characters and the plot.
