What do we do?
Our Color Guard team presents the National Ensign and the Organizational flag during ceremonies, events, competitions, and more!

Training Opportunities

If a Cadet is interested in participating in Color Guard, they should participate in training sessions or message the Color Guard Team Commander to request training sessions if not currently scheduled. Opportunities to learn are available during scheduled practices and during Eagle Block (as requested.)

Event Color Guard

Generally consists of four cadets: National (US Flag), Organizational (Unit Flag), Left Guard, and Right Guard. This type of Color Guard involves presenting the colors for the opening National Anthem for various events and organizations. This is a Cadet-led function, led and executed by the event's National Cadet, aided by the Color Guard Team Commander. Events that we have done include: football games, retirement ceremonies, veteran recognition events, choir/orchestra/band events, and more. For event color guard, qualification training includes instruction on Standards, Etiquette, Guard positions, and Organizational flag position. Qualification in these areas are required to participate. National training is optional, but highly encouraged, as it provides commanding and leadership opportunity.

Competition Color Guard

Consists of four cadets: National (US Flag), Organizational (Unit Flag), Left Guard, and Right Guard. This type of color guard is performed at inter-unit competitions, where the Color Guards follow a set order of movements (card) to determine which unit performs the best. The card is shown here: For competition color guard, any Cadet can join practices if they are interested in learning. They should message the Color Guard Commander so that the team can prepare to include instruction for new Cadets.
