Interested in Dual Enrollment courses through TCC?
The Dual Enrollment program allows students to take courses that meet requirements for high school graduation while simultaneously earning college credit at Tidewater Community College (TCC).
Grades are awarded according to the policies of the college, and credit earned for the courses taken can be transferred to other public colleges in Virginia.
Students can access Dual Enrollment courses at their high school, at TCC, or online.

What is the tuition cost associated with Dual Enrollment courses?
FREE! As of the 2024-2025 school year, ALL Dual Enrollment coursework is FREE OF COST to high school students!
What does the Dual Enrollment application process look like?
The process is outlined HERE.
Note that students will need to complete ALL steps in order to be eligible to be a Dual Enrollment student. Additionally, students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA to take Dual Enrollment courses.
What Dual Enrollment courses are offered?
Listed HERE are the Dual Enrollment courses offered for 2025-2026 school year. Please keep in mind that these courses must work around the student's schedule here at Cox High School. Some of the listed courses are offered in person on the TCC campus or are offered asynchronously. Please see Mrs. Carly Wampler, or your counselor, for questions.
IMPORTANT: These are only the courses that are offered as DE courses. The majority of these courses are offered either on TCC's campus or as an online course. Speak with your counselor to ensure these courses will work with your particular schedule.
Are there any Dual Enrollment courses taught in the building at Cox HS?
The following DE courses are currently taught here in the building at Cox HS:
College Composition I & II: This course can satisfy the English 12 graduation requirement. Only open to Seniors.
US History : This course can satisfy the VA/US History graduation requirement. Only open to Juniors.
Biology I and II: This course can count as a 4th science course towards the Advanced Diploma or an elective science course. This course cannot be taken in place of core Biology. Biology is a prerequisite for this course.
Dual Enrollment Pre-Calculus I and II: Can take this course after completing Algebra II or Algebra II Honors.
