 Responsibilities in University Programmes and Projects

1. Campus Coordinator for Project implementation of the Higher Education for the twenty-first century Project (HETC), Ministry of Higher Education from 1st August 2011. It is a credit given to the Government of Sri Lanka by the International Development Association (World Bank), amounting to US$ 40 Mn for five years from 2011 to 2016.

2. Co-chair of the Institutional Review Committee for Self-evaluation Report Writing, Vavuniya Campus 2018.

3. Convener of the Silver Jubilee Subcommittee for Program Arrangement and Member of the Subcommittee for Souvenir Arrangements– 17th August 2017 at Vavuniya Campus.

4. Chairman of the Committee for utilization of Interest Fund from Bond Breach and Swapping Account, 2020

5. Chairman of the Technical Evaluation Committee, OTS, AHEAD Operation, Faculty of Technological Studies, Vavuniya Campus 2020 -2021.

6. Chairman of the Committee for finding the Possibilities to acquire additional land for the campus in 2018

7. Chairperson to the Committee on Improving English Language Teaching, Vavuniya Campus– University Development Grant for Five Years – 2010 -2015.

8. The Academic Coordinator (2002/2003) Extension Programs in English (Diploma and Certificate) at Mannar Study Centre of Vavuniya Campus in Mannar. The campus conducted it during the period exposed to intensive conflict period. However, I managed the program very well for the A/L Passed outs, the unemployed, and the public and private sector employees in the Mannar district.

9. the Academic Coordinator of the Vavuniya General English Language Teaching Center, Vavuniya (1998 & 2000) for two years.

10. The Academic Coordinator (2009-2010) of the English Language Skill Development Program for the Public Servants of the Northern Province of Sri Lanka, sponsored by the Northern Province Council.

11. Proposal Developer for Upgrading the English Language Teaching Unit ELTU to the Department of English Language Teaching DELT in the Faculty of Business Studies, Vavuniya Campus, approved by the University Grants Commission 2016 – 2017 and established in 2017

12. Proposal Developer for the new Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Vavuniya Campus, approved by the Senate, Council and the University Grants Commission for developing the detailed curriculum for each degree program. 

13. Proposal Developer for Improving English Language Skills Component of the Faculty Grant Proposal of Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development Operation (AHEAD) Project in 2019. The proposal won the 100 million SL Rupees grant, and 10 million was allocated to improve English language skills.

14. Member of the Editorial Committee of the Campus Silver Jubilee Ceremony Magazine, The Splendour, 2017, August 17.

15. Member of the Committee for preparation of the Action Plan and Strategic Management Plan of the Vavuniya Campus - 2010 -2015, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2014-2018.

The Chairperson of the Action Committee for Preliminary Arrangements for developing the trade mark properties of the new ‘University of Vavuniya.’  As suggested by the UGC Chairman by the Campus Board, this committee was formed to plan and design the Logo, motto, Emblem, Anthem, Flag, and Ceremonial Dress. 2021

Member of the Committee for Medical Certificate and Mercy Chance to develop a policy document to handle the issues of violation and dishonesty, as requested by the senate at its 10th meeting on the 18th of July 2022. The Policy Document was approved at the Senate at its 12th meeting on 17th October 2022.

4. Convener of the Subcommittee for Program Arrangement of the Silver Jubilee Celebration. It was held on August 17, 2017, at Vavuniya Campus.

5. Chairman of the Committee on reporting the utilization of the internet Facilities at Pambaimadhu and Administration Building – 12-10-2017 

6. Campus Coordinator for conducting UTEL examination for the students, UDG Programme – 2014.

18. Judge for art drawing competition organised by the FAS Silver Jubilee Celebration Committee held on 31st October 2022 at the Dept of Bio-science building, Pambaimadu. The science faculty students and school students participated in the competition. The theme was nature and the environment.
