Laboratory planning and development

1)  ELTA-ELSE - Faculty Level Development Project – Faculty of Applied Science 10 – 10- 2019 to 09 – 10- 2020 – Establishment of Computer-Assisted Language Lab Two for DELT under the Faculty Grant under the Accelerating Higher   Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) operation. Results Area 2, Round 01.

2) Establishment of Computer Assisted Language Lab One for the English Language Teaching Unit, Vavuniya Campus, under the HETC Project.  Improving English Language Skills, the Higher Education for the Twenty-first Century Project (HETC) Project, Ministry of Higher Education from 1st August 2011.

Contribution to the IT-based Teaching, Learning and Assessing  

1. Resource Person for Proficiency in English courses and Business Communication courses using four computer-aided instructional software to the students of the Faculty of Business Studies and English Language I and II for Science courses since 2012 at the Faculty of Applied Science. This software is the product of Clarity English Company, purchased by the University of Jaffna under the HETC project.

2. Resource Person for the English course units from the beginning of the COVID-19 situation this year using the two virtual modes:

3. Resource Person for teaching and assessing English Language Skills, especially Vavuniya Campus students from 1995 to date.

1)   training in the IELTS Examination materials using audio and video and online materials

2)   training in the TOEFL Examination materials using audio and video and online materials

3)   Training via TV, Radio and Tape recorders, and video cameras to enhance ELT and ELL. (Mainly from 1995 to 2005,

4)   Training via computer language labs, smartphones, CDs, DVDs, and online materials. 

4. Initiated and developed the DELT website in the Official Campus website with all the technical requirements with assistance from the DELT and IT staff.

5. Resource person for using Web Apps like Google Forms in developing and conducting 1) Oral and 2) Listening Tests for the In-course Assessment activities of the DELT to manage the Covid 19 Pandemic situation assistance from the DELT staff.

6. Resource person for Teaching English Language Skills using ELT and ELL software to the school Principals of the Northern Province, Sri Lanka. It was held from December 2010 to January 2011.

7. The Campus Representative for the University Test of English Language – an Online Examination conducted at the National Level 2011-2013.
