What is the Varcity Trading Index™ (VTI)?
The Varcity Trading Index™️ (VTI) evaluates your quantitative trading skills in real-time, on every closed position, ranking trading performance across our network. The VTI combines standardized industry performance analytics with a proprietary algorithm that assesses trading behaviours across the Varcity network, assigning each user an overall rank of trading performance that is both absolute and relative to other users’ performance.
To acknowledge your successes and recognize your great trading skills, the VTI issues badges for events such as highest VTI, VTI by percentile, highest returns and other weekly/monthly performance metrics. Check the badge list for new badge drops, we are always adding new badges based on user feedback!

How is my VTI rank calculated?
The VTI is a quantitative trading performance metric developed by Varcity for use on Varcity’s trading simulator only. The VTI combines standardized industry performance metrics with a proprietary algorithm that assesses trading behaviours, to create a trading performance measure that allows us to compare individual performance to all other users on the Varcity platform.
The VTI ranges from 1 - 100, and when a new Varcity account is created (either Basic or Pro), the VTI is set to 40.

What happens to my VTI when I switch from a Pro account to a Basic account?
When you switch demo trading accounts from Pro to Basic, you will first receive an automated “Welcome to Basic'' email from Varcity. Click on the “Trading Dashboard” link and access your Basic trading dashboard.
Your current demo trading account performance metrics, P&L and account balance, as well as your VTI, stay the same. Your Varcity Network information and trophy case will also stay the same.
However, you will not have access to:
Your automated trading journal (only available in Pro) and all the information contained within it.
Pro trading widgets and Pro order screens
Order book
Saved alerts beyond the first three (Basic accounts have 3 alerts available only)
Saved charts beyond Chart 1 (Basic accounts have one chart available only)
Saved watchlists beyond Watchlist 1 (Basic accounts have one watchlist available only).
Please note: Once you switch from Pro to Basic, this information is de-identified from your account, meaning we cannot reinstate the data if you change your mind and return to Pro at a later date. If you have any questions please email support@varcity.io.
