Yes, Varcity and the VTI are designed with a portfolio approach, which means you can trade all securities and instruments available on our demo trading platform in your portfolio. Trading widgets are sorted into categories based on security type for ease of use.

At this time, Varcity release V1.0 does not allow the use of copy traders; however, we are planning a future release that will offer an API package that can integrate copy traders.

Yes,  positions can remain open overnight. If you do not want to hold your trades over night you will need to close them or else they will automatically be held over night. 

On the Varcity Basic account you will be logged out of your account every 12 hours and you will be required to by log in again. On a Varcity Pro account, you will automatically be logged out weekly every Friday at 5PM EST. 

Currently our program is set to a leverage of 1:10 for all tradable securities, except for cryptocurrencies which are being offered with no margin.

Varcity is a gamified demo trading platform that helps users develop great trading skills through real-time quantitative trading rankings, rewards and recognition, and peer mentorship. You can use the platform to test your skills and your own trading plan, however, Varcity will never provide you with any trading advice. Even though Varcity is a trading simulator that uses virtual funds only, we do aim to offer a realistic experience of what it is like to trade in the markets.  To help create a more realistic simulations, we do hold margin on all open positions.  On Pro accounts, you can view your margin utilized and margin available for your entire portfolio and by category in My Portfolio.

Varcity will close an Open position if either of the following occur:

• There is insufficient margin in your account to close the position

• There is insufficient liquidity available in the market to close your position. 

When you sign up for a Varcity Pro or Varcity Basic account you are NOT trading real money and you do NOT have a live account. You are demo trading using simulated funds on Varcity’s trading simulator with real-time market data. For more information, please see our Terms & Conditions.
