Are you looking for a flexible, virtual, home learning program that sets your child up for academic success? Creating a home learning program for your child or children can be difficult in today’s busy world.
Virtual Learning Academy at Heights Campus provides support to create a home learning program that combines virtual learning in tandem with the academic activities you are already using at home.
VLA provides advising teachers who will engage and work with you and your child, to provide a flexible learning plan to meet and monitor your child’s academic goals. We understand that each child needs different support and guidance with resources to be successful in their education while forming a teacher/parent partnership.
The majority of school work is done asynchronously (not live with a teacher), so it is very important that families can spend the time needed to support their child in accessing learning. Students participate in a weekly remote labs Tuesday through Friday and have opportunities to participate in other remote learning sessions throughout the week for more direct instruction and support.

Virtual Learning is a predominately online program with some blended-learning options.
The independent and self-paced environment is appealing for students who, for a variety of reasons, want more flexibility in their schedules or have struggled in traditional schools. Students who are on pace to graduate or those with credit deficiencies can work with staff to design an educational pathway to meet their academic goals.
The array of online and work-based learning options also allow students to prepare for college or careers. Students are required to attend a scheduled 2.5 hour session (in-person or remote options) with their advising teacher at least once a week (depending on grade level and course progression).
Students with individualized education plans maybe required to be onsite for additional time to meet their Individualized Education Plan goals.
We do not offer sports, music, or multiple world languages. Students can access these extras at their resident school.
