Home Connection K-5 at Heights Campus is a classroom-based, parent-partnership program serving students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Home Connection faculty members collaborate with families to reach their educational goals by providing outstanding core academic instruction and access to information, guidance, and learning resources.
Parent participation is foundational to student success in this program. Parents are part of this learning community and in addition to supporting instruction on Tuesdays and Thursdays, are asked to volunteer in a variety of ways for at least three hours over the course of the school year.
Teachers and parents work together to develop and follow a student learning plan. Certificated teachers implement the plan through direct instruction on Wednesdays, Fridays and optional Mondays for elective/enrichment while parents implement the plan on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Onsite attendance is required two to three days per week depending on selected courses.
Our Middle School at Heights Campus is an alternative program serving students in 6th through 8th grades
Heights provides a small, supportive learning environment that focuses on academic achievement, social emotional learning, and high school preparation. Students who attend Heights are also choosing to participate in the Achievement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program.
Most students find the greatest success by attending classes five days a week. However, families who want to be more involved in their child/children's education may opt for a two or three day a week on-site program. To be successful, students must complete expected asynchronous course work (without live teacher instruction) if they are not on site every day.
Because the the small size of the Home Connection High School program at Heights Campus, students all have the same schedule. We do not offer sports, music, or multiple world languages (we offer Spanish). Students can access these extras at their resident school if the school schedules allow.
